Overly moist and poorly stored grain often leads to high post-harvest losses in Africa, often as high as 50%. With proper and rapid drying, preferably directly at the farmers' premises, the monetary yields of cereal crops are dramatically increased. The spread of aflatoxin is stopped with dry goods and the quality of marketed products, also in terms of export opportunities, increases significantly. MECMAR offers a wide range of mobile grain dryers with integrated cyclones for cleaning as well as equipment for roasting grain.

CPT series

The mobile grain dryers

The CPT series is the perfect choice for those who want to combine high mobility with many site changes on small to medium acreages. Corn, rice, soybeans and all bread grains can be easily dried and cleaned without the need for an existing power connection. Depending on the model, initial moisture content and required target moisture content, the 24-hour capacity ranges from 30 to 80 tons of dried grain.

For use with the tractor

From a PTO power of 25 kW / 34 hp at 540 rpm, the dryers of the CPT series can be operated completely mobile and without a power connection. Depending on the model, the capacity is approx. 7 to 10 tons per filling. The required power is generated by an integrated generator driven by the PTO shaft. An integrated diesel tank supplies the burner.

Economical and robust

Grain dryers can and should operate 24 hours during harvest time. This quickly brings the grain into a condition suitable for storage. The robust technology is designed for such tough use. With an approximate diesel consumption of one liter per ton and per 1% moisture reduction, the dryers operate very economically. Thanks to the integrated measuring technology, drying services for customers can be invoiced directly on site.

The drying principle

The operating principle of the mobile grain dryers is kept simple and thus forms the basis for safe operation and high reliability, even under extreme conditions. This combination of robustness in construction and operation predestines all mobile grain dryers for challenging use in Africa.

STR series

Performance and mobility

The STR series is a class larger than the CPT series and is always the perfect choice when the areas are larger and yet high mobility with many location changes is required. Corn, rice, soybeans and all bread grains can be easily dried and cleaned without the need for an existing power supply. Depending on the model, initial moisture content and required target moisture content, the 24-hour capacity ranges from 50 to 100 tons.

For use with the tractor

From a PTO power of 37 kW / 50 hp at 540 rpm, the STR series dryers can be operated completely mobile and without a power connection. Depending on the model, the capacity is approx. 9 to 13 tons per filling. The required power is generated by an integrated generator driven by the PTO shaft. An integrated diesel tank with a capacity of 550 liters supplies the burner for more than 24 hours of operation.

Quickly ready for use

The mobile grain dryers are delivered in 20' containers and are assembled within one day. The tower can be retracted for transport from job site to job site. The dryer can be filled either directly by dumping from the trailer onto a ground auger, by loading with a front-end loader, or by dumping bags.

D series

Performance and mobility

The D series, with a tower diameter of 3 meters, offers another significant increase in performance without compromising on mobility. Corn, rice, soybeans and all bread grains can be easily dried and cleaned without the need for an existing power connection. Depending on the model, initial moisture content and required target moisture content, the 24-hour capacity ranges from 80 to 185 tons.

For use with the tractor

From a PTO power of 45 kW / 61 hp at 540 rpm, the dryers of the D series can be operated completely mobile and without a power connection. Depending on the model, the capacity is approx. 14 to 24 tons per filling. The required power is generated by an integrated generator driven by the PTO shaft. An integrated diesel tank with a capacity of 830 or 1186 liters supplies the burner for more than 24 hours of operation.

For day and night use

The D-Series grain dryers are designed for 24-hour operation throughout the harvest season. With 60 days of operation, more than 11,000 tons of corn can be dried with an average 5% moisture reduction. At a yield of 5 tons per ha, the largest D-Series dryer can process the crop of approximately 2,200 ha. At 2 tons yield per ha, the dryer can dry the crop of 5,500 ha.

The dryers in use

Drying directly after harvesting the fields is the best and safest way to preserve the quality of the grain and its storability. Here you can see some D-Series dryers in use. For organic farming, we offer special indirect heating systems that meet all the requirements of organic certifications.

GrainRoaster

The roasters for all cereals

Roasting cereals eliminates nutrient-hostile elements in the grain, increases protein availability, and significantly improves digestibility. While roasting of soybeans is mandatory, in the field of cereal use for animal feed and for food purposes, people are increasingly moving towards roasting corn, rice and bread cereals as well. With MECMAR roasters, roasting can be done quickly and easily, even mobile, at the producer's site.

The right size for every application

The roasters work in continuous operation and, depending on the model, can process between 0.5 and 5 tons of grain per hour. Continuous feeding is provided by an auger conveyor which feeds the grain into the receiving hopper. To ensure very cost-effective operation, the outgoing hot air is collected and used to preheat the air for roasting. The roasting process is monitored by sensors and can be precisely controlled.

Flexible energy sources - predictable costs

The roasters can be operated using various energy sources. These include methane gas, LPG or diesel. Regardless of the size of the roaster, about 19 liters of diesel fuel are used to roast one ton of soybeans. This makes it easy to calculate the roasting costs. The rated power of the electric motors ranges from 4.5 to 19 kW, depending on the model.

The roasters in action

Get an idea of the compact roasters in operation. Mounted on a trailer, they can be driven to the farms and immediately start operation. For larger farms and central locations, the units are operated stationary, but without the requirements of a fixed installation. The robust construction predestines the roasters for the challenging continuous operation in Africa.
