the harvest.

In Africa, grain that is too moist and poorly stored often leads to high post-harvest losses, which frequently amount to 50%. Correct and rapid drying, preferably directly at the farmer's premises, dramatically increases the monetary yields of grain cultivation. The spread of aflatoxin is curbed with dry goods and the quality of the marketed products, also with regard to export opportunities, increases significantly. MECMAR offers a wide range of mobile grain dryers with integrated cyclones for cleaning and systems for roasting grain.

CPT series

The mobile grain dryers
The CPT series is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to combine high mobility with many changes of location on small to medium-sized cultivation areas. Corn, rice, soybeans and all bread grains can be easily dried and cleaned without the need for a power supply. Depending on the model, initial moisture and required target moisture, the 24-hour output is between 30 and 80 tons of dried grain.

For use with the tractor
From a PTO output of 25 kW / 34 hp at 540 rpm, the dryers in the CPT series can be operated completely mobile and without a power connection. Depending on the model, the capacity is approx. 7 to 10 tons per filling. The required power is generated by an integrated generator driven by the PTO shaft. An integrated diesel tank supplies the burner.
Economical and robust

The grain dryers can and should be in operation 24 hours a day during the harvest period. This quickly brings the grain into a storable state. The robust technology is designed for such tough use. With an approximate diesel consumption of around one liter per ton and per 1% moisture reduction, the dryers operate very economically. Thanks to the integrated measuring technology, drying services for customers can be invoiced directly on site.
The drying principle
The functional principle of the mobile grain dryers is kept simple and thus forms the basis for safe operation and high reliability, even under extreme conditions. This combination of robust construction and operation predestines all mobile grain dryers for challenging use in Africa.

Series STR

Performance and mobility
The STR series is one class larger than the CPT series and is always the perfect choice when the areas are larger and yet high mobility with many changes of location is required. Corn, rice, soybeans and all bread grains can be dried and cleaned easily and without the need for a power connection. Depending on the model, initial moisture content and required target moisture content, the 24-hour output is between 50 and 100 tons.

For use with the tractor
From a PTO output of 37 kW / 50 hp at 540 rpm, the dryers in the STR series can be operated completely mobile and without a power connection. Depending on the model, the capacity is approx. 9 to 13 tons per filling. The required power is generated by an integrated generator driven by the PTO shaft. An integrated diesel tank with a capacity of 550 liters supplies the burner for more than 24 hours of operation.

Quickly ready for use
The mobile grain dryers are delivered in 20' containers and can be assembled within one day. The tower can be retracted for transportation from site to site. The dryer can be filled either directly by tipping from the trailer onto a ground auger, by loading with a front loader or by tipping sacks.

Series D

Performance and mobility
The D series with a tower diameter of 3 meters offers a further significant increase in performance without compromising on mobility. Corn, rice, soybeans and all bread grains can be dried and cleaned without any problems and without a power connection. Depending on the model, initial moisture and required target moisture, the 24-hour output is between 80 and 185 tons.
For use with the tractor

From a PTO power of 45 kW / 61 hp at 540 rpm, the D-series dryers can be operated completely mobile and without a power connection. Depending on the model, the capacity is approx. 14 to 24 tons per filling. The required power is generated by an integrated generator driven by the PTO shaft. An integrated diesel tank with a capacity of 830 or 1186 liters supplies the burner for more than 24 hours of operation.

For day and night use
The D-series grain dryers are designed for 24-hour operation throughout the entire harvesting season. With 60 days of operation and an average moisture reduction of 5%, more than 11,000 tons of maize can be dried. With a yield of 5 tons per hectare, the largest D-Series dryer can process the harvest of approx. 2,200 hectares. At a yield of 2 tons per hectare, the dryer can dry the harvest of 5,500 hectares.
The dryers in use
Drying directly after harvesting the fields is the best and safest way to preserve the quality of the grain and its storage life. Here you can see some D-Series dryers in use. For organic farming, we offer special indirect heating systems that meet all the requirements of organic certifications.

Grain roaster

The roasters for all types of grain
Roasting grain removes nutrient-hostile elements in the grain, increases the availability of proteins and significantly improves digestibility. While the roasting of soybeans is mandatory, the use of grain for animal feed and food purposes is increasingly moving towards the roasting of maize, rice and bread grains. With the roasters from MECMAR, roasting can be carried out quickly and easily at the producer's premises, even on the move.
The right size for every application

The roasters work in continuous operation and, depending on the model, can process between 0.5 and 5 tons of grain per hour. The grain is fed continuously via a screw conveyor, which feeds the grain into the receiving hopper. To ensure very cost-effective operation, the hot air that escapes is collected and used to preheat the air for roasting. The roasting process is monitored by sensors and can be precisely controlled.
Flexible energy sources - predictable costs

The roasters can be operated using various energy sources. These include methane gas, LPG or diesel. Regardless of the size of the roaster, around 19 liters of diesel fuel are required to roast one ton of soya. This makes it easy to calculate the roasting costs. The rated power of the electric motors is between 4.5 and 19 kW, depending on the model.
The roasters in action
Get a picture of the compact roasters in action. Mounted on a trailer, they can be driven to the farms where they can be put into operation immediately. For larger farms and central locations, the systems are operated stationary, but without the need for fixed installation. The robust construction predestines the roasters for the challenging continuous operation in Africa.
